Fr- -I <br />AUG 2 S 1989 �. <br />BOOK.7 %� <br />OBJECTIVE 4 ADEQUATE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM <br />The county will have a minimum level of service "C" on an annual <br />basis and a level of service "D" during the peak season on the <br />county's system of roads and bridges and will have a coordinated <br />system of sidewalks and bikeways by the year 2010. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 5 IMPROVED PERCEPTION <br />By 1991, the county will have improved the community's perception <br />of economic development programs. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 6 ENCOURAGE DEVELOPMENT <br />By 1992, the county will have adopted land development <br />regulations that encourage economic development activity. <br />- NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 7 ADEQUATE WATER AND SANITARY SEWER FACILITIES <br />By 1995, the county will upgrade its potable water and sanitary <br />sewer facilities, allowing for adequate capacity for future <br />economic growth. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 8 ADEQUATE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br />The county shall ensure the provision of adequate and affordable <br />housing for its residents. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 9 INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION <br />The county will facilitate coordination and cooperation among the <br />governmental jurisdictions and other public/private agencies. <br />- NO COMMENT <br />***** END OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ELEMENT ***** <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ELEMENT <br />Goal <br />Indian River County will have a Capital Improvements Program <br />which manages the provision of services and facilities as <br />identified in each element of the Comprehensive Plan in a <br />fiscally prudent manner, and ensures that the levels of service <br />set in each element are maintained, facilities and infrastructure <br />improvements are provided concurrent with development, existing <br />infrastructure is maintained, and balanced growth is attained. <br />64 <br />
