Davis, P.E. <br />dated May 15, 1989 <br />DATE: August 29, 1989 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />A traffic study conducted by FDOT indicates that a traffic signal <br />is now warranted at Highlands Drive and US 1. It has been <br />requested by FDOT that the County provide the funding for the <br />design and construction of this project through local traffic <br />impact fees. On August 2, 1989, the Transportation Planning <br />Committee approved the addition of this project to the County's <br />20 -Year Capital Improvements Plan. The proposed FY 1989-1990 <br />funding of County road projects is attached, however the funding <br />for this project is not included. The estimated cost of the <br />project is $60,000. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Project be approved, using funding from District VI Traffic <br />Impact Fees. <br />Alternatives No. 2 <br />Do not approve use of Traffic Impact Fees and postpone the <br />signalization until FDOT funding becomes available. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 be approved, using funding <br />from District VI Traffic Impact Fees. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved Alternative <br />No. 1 using funding from District VI impact fees as <br />recommended by staff. <br />35 <br />,SEP 5 198 <br />
