SEP9 BOOK <br />The Chairman asked for a vote on the call for the question. <br />It was voted on and carried 4 to 1 with Chairman Wheeler voting <br />in opposition. <br />THE CHAIRMAN THEN CALLED THE QUESTION on the <br />Motion. <br />It was voted on and carried 4 to 1 with <br />Chairman Wheeler voting in opposition. <br />Chairman Wheeler explained that he was not necessarily <br />against the Motion; he had just wanted more information before <br />voting. <br />REQUEST TO INCREASE MINIMUM TAX BILL FROM $1.00 TO $5.00 <br />The Board reviewed memo from Asst. County Attorney Brennan: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Sharon P. Brennan - Assistant County Attorney <br />DATE: August 30, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: Tax Collector's Request to Increase Minimum Tax <br />Bill from $1.00 to $5.00 <br />The Tax Collector has requested that the Board consider <br />adopting a resolution which would increase the minimum tax <br />bill amount from $1.00 to $5.00. The Florida Statutes <br />authorize adoption of such a resolution to raise the minimum <br />tax amount and to Instruct the Property Appraiser that he <br />shall not make an extension on the tax roll for any parcel <br />for which the tax would amount to less than $5.00. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 89-84 approving setting the minimum tax <br />bill at $5.00. <br />58 <br />
