He pointed out that there is -no <br />one here to speak in their behalf, and he just wanted the Board <br />to be aware there was some objection expressed. He agreed the <br />states should do this themselves. <br />Chairman Wheeler felt just from the view of the amount of <br />shipping of fruit we do in this county, we should send this <br />proposed resolution. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt either that or send a Resolution <br />that states specifically how we think it should be handled <br />because a tremendous revenue is being lost to our state. Actu- <br />ally, he stated that he really wanted to have more information <br />before taking any action on this. <br />MOTION MADE by Commissioner Eggert to table the <br />above matter for a week, was voted on and carried <br />unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING 10:00 P.M. POLL CLOSING TIME <br />Attorney Collins informed the Board that he had discussed <br />the proposed Resolution opposing a 10:00 P.M. poll closing time <br />with Elections Supervisor Ann Robinson, and she asked that the <br />Resolution be amended to oppose either a 9:00 or 10:00 P.M. <br />closing time. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 89-86, amending the wording to oppose a <br />poll closing time of either 9:00 P.M. or 10:00 P.M. <br />SEP 5 1989 65 <br />�ooK 77 F,�\;c. 861 <br />
