BACKGROUND: <br />BOOK .I8 Fa F 36 <br />The -Subject Bid for Utility Supplies & Material was properly <br />advertised and (12) invitations to bid were sent out. on <br />July 31, 1989 Twelve Bids were received. Four (4) vendors <br />submitted proposals for the camaodity. <br />2. ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to <br />specifications. These were the lowest bidders to meet all <br />requirements. , <br />Award of Group I brass to Davis Meter and Supply <br />Award of Group II pipe to Davis Meter and Supply - <br />Award of Group III pipe fittings to Davis Meter and Supply <br />Award of Group IV meter Nos -2 and 3 to Sun State <br />Meter and Supply <br />Award of Group IV meter Nos 4 and 5 to Davis Meter <br />and Supply <br />Award of Group V chlorine to PB & S Chemical. <br />3. FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will come from Utilities Budget Account. <br />4 ON: <br />Staff recommends the Award of a Open End Contract. The initial <br />Contract period shall start with the date of The Award and shall <br />terminate one (1) year frau that date and to authorize the <br />-` Purchasing Manager to nenew the contract for an additional one <br />' year subject to satisfactory performance, vendor acceptance and <br />deteaninations the nenewal is in the best interest of the County. <br />Director Dean advised that in an effort to reduce costs, our <br />Purchasing Department got with the Utilities Department, esti- <br />mated their yearly consumption, and put out for bids on these <br />items. We had 3 bidders and should have had 4, but one came in a <br />day late so we could not accept it. Staff recommends acceptance <br />of the bids as set out in the memo. <br />33 <br />r <br />
