He stressed that he will not sign off <br />on it in final form at this time because he believed those kind <br />of developments are what we want to see in this county west of <br />-95 in the next 20 years. <br />OBJECTIVE 3 LEVELS OF SERVICE <br />All future development will be consistent with the levels of <br />service established in this plan for public services and <br />infrastructure. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 4 EFFICIENT MIX OF USES TO REDUCE TRAFFIC DEMAND <br />Indian River County will reduce the number and length of trips on <br />county roadways by implementing a land use pattern which places <br />activity centers such as commercial and employment centers near <br />residential areas. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 5 DIVERSITY OF DEVELOPMENT <br />Indian River County will provide for a mix of land uses which <br />permit and encourage a variety of development patterns and <br />densities to accommodate a diversity of lifestyles. <br />Director Keating referred to POLICY 5.8 and asked if the <br />Board wanted anything in the 1 unit per 5 acres density now to be <br />a planned development, and after some discussion, it was agreed <br />to delete POLICY 5.8 which states that "Planned development shall <br />be required for any development requiring the subdivision or <br />reconfiguration of land in the AG -3 district." <br />OBJECTIVE 6 AGRICULTURAL PROTECTION <br />Indian River County will ensure that adequate land will be <br />designated for agricultural uses and protected from encroachment <br />by other uses. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that you have a tremendous amount of <br />AG east of 1-95 within your Urban Service Area, and if you are <br />not going to allow development to occur outside the Urban Service <br />Area, you will force the relocation of that AG because that is <br />114 <br />
