OBJECTIVE 3 TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM REVIEW <br />The county will have a transportation system review and <br />evaluation prepared on an annual basis. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 4 RIGHTS-OF-WAY <br />By 2010, the county will have secured the ultimate right-of-way <br />needed for all county collector and arterial roads within the <br />urban area as referenced in Figure 4.13.2 (Thoroughfare Plan Map) <br />of the Traffic Circulation Element. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 5 TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />All development projects approved by the county will provide for <br />adequate traffic control. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 6 PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLE SYSTEM <br />By 2000, the county will have a continuous pedestrian/bicycle <br />system providing access throughout the urbanized area of the <br />county. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 7 LAND USE COMPATIBILITY <br />The traffic circulation system will be compatible with the land <br />use element and other elements of the comprehensive plan. <br />- NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 8 COORDINATION <br />The county will have a system which ensures that all transporta- <br />tion requirements, procedures, and improvements are coordinated <br />with all applicable governmental entities responsible for <br />transportation activities and with the Hutchinson Island Resource <br />Management Plan. <br />Chairman Eggert noted that the words "with the Hutchinson <br />Island Resource Management Plan" have been added. <br />Director Keating commented that under POLICY 4.6 the county <br />will prepare really Right -of -Way reservation maps and hopefully <br />that will resolve issues we have with R/W acquisition. This may <br />be a costly endeavor, but we are spreading it over a number of <br />years. <br />MASS TRANSIT ELEMENT <br />Goal <br />It is the goal of Indian River County to provide a transportation <br />system that serves the needs of all residents of the county, <br />including those which are transportation disadvantaged. <br />1 2 9 <br />�� � 600K F'"E.2- n <br />
