Scurlock, Jr. <br />FROM: County Commissioner REFERENCES: <br />The following is a suggestion for the establishment of a <br />county -wide ad hoc committee for fire rescue and EMS service: <br />COUNTY FIRE AD HOC COMMITTEE <br />PURPOSE <br />To establish a vehicle where good communication, can take place <br />for the logical and orderly planning of expanding uniform <br />professional service on a county -wide basis. This committee <br />would be a vehicle to provide alternatives with a long range <br />planned approach and an orderly transition. The committee would <br />consist of the following: <br />Votina Members <br />2 County Commissioners (suggest Eggert and Scurlock) <br />2 City of Vero Beach <br />1 City of Fellsmere <br />1 City of Sebastian <br />1 Town of Orchid <br />1 Town of Indian River Shores <br />1 Wabasso/Gifford <br />1 Volunteer Fire Fighters - South County <br />1 Volunteer Fire Fighters - *3orth County <br />1 EMS/Paramedic <br />Technical Non-voting Members: <br />County Administrator <br />Budget Officer <br />County Attorney <br />Fire Chief/Doug Wright <br />GOAL OR TASK <br />To develop alternatives to bring about unified professional <br />service county -wide and assist in developing a transition plan <br />for the alternative selected by the Commission. The committee <br />will in no way be involved in day to day administration.
