The County <br />Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the submitted <br />contracts for construction and letters of credit, and the Public <br />Works Department has inspected the completed- portion of the <br />improvements and have reviewed the certified cost estimates and <br />deemed them acceptable. The Utilities Department has no objection <br />to final plat approval. It should be noted that once all <br />improvements have been completed and deemed acceptable, the <br />developer will then submit a warranty -maintenance agreement and <br />will post security to guarantee the performance of the completed <br />improvements that are dedicated to the county. <br />All applicable requirements regarding final plat approval have <br />been satisfied. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners grant <br />final plat approval for Walker's Glenn Subdivision Unit 1, author- <br />ize the Chairman to execute the submitted contracts for con- <br />struction of the required improvements, and accept the letters of <br />credit which guarantee the construction contracts. <br />Commissioner Bowman was bothered by these dead ends at <br />canals and what not, and Director Keating advised that this plat <br />does have a road connection over to the east from 24th Street. <br />He noted that there is a subsequent phase, and there is an <br />east/west roadway that runs to the very south of this. <br />Commissioner Bowman understood then that we are not ending <br />up with half a road along a canal, and Director Keating advised <br />that half streets are no longer allowed to be platted. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Scurlock being absent) granted final plat <br />approval for Walker's Glen.
