MAR 2 71990 BOOKl9 Frac665 <br />- <br />PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING <br />APRIL 7, 1990 AS <br />VERO BEACH DODGERS DAY <br />WHEREAS, the Vero Beach Dodgers will celebrate their 10th <br />Anniversary on April 7, 1990; and <br />WHEREAS, 45 former Vero Beach Dodgers have made it all the <br />way to the Major Leagues; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vero Beach Dodgers have attracted 822,361 fans <br />to its games over the past ten seasons; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vero Beach Dodgers won the title of Florida <br />State League Champions in 1983; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1984 the Vero Beach Dodgers hosted the Florida <br />State League All-Star game; and <br />WHEREAS, there have been three managers in the Vero Beach <br />Dodgers history; Stan Wasiak (1980-1986), John Shoemaker <br />(1987-1988), Joe Alvarez (1989) and two general managers, Terry <br />Reynolds and Tom Simmons: <br />WHEREAS, the Vero Beach Dodgers have attracted tourists to <br />Indian River County, thereby contributing to its economic <br />stability and to the enjoyment of its residents: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that April 7, 1990 <br />be designated as <br />VERO BEACH DODGERS DAY <br />in Indian River County, and the Board urges all citizens of this <br />county to support the Vero Beach Dodgers team. <br />Adopted this 27th day of March, 1990. <br />12 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Zf4.4_ <br />Carolyry <br />K.
