This is an effort to encourage savings and to replace <br />the IRAs. He didn't feel this is something that would affect <br />the municipal bond market, however. <br />5) A case is presently being heard by the Supreme Court on <br />whether or not state and county government can be sued in <br />federal court. Attorney Vitunac will keep us advised as the <br />case proceeds. <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF FLORIDA DRUG FREE LEGISLATION <br />Commissioner Wheeler reviewed a bulletin released from the <br />Governor's Office dated 2/7/90 entitled Governor Calls for Death <br />Penalty for Drug Kingpins, Proposes Additional $120 -Million Drug <br />Fighting Budget <br />Commissioner Wheeler requested that the Board adopt a <br />Resolution in support of the Governor's proposed measures to <br />fight the war against drugs. <br />Chairman Eggert understood that Commissioner Wheeler's <br />Resolution will include the items shown on backup pages 165-167 . <br />Commissioner Scurlock was all for it but wondered where the <br />funds would come from if no new taxes are imposed. It's like <br />waving the flag; it all sounds good until you have to pay for it. <br />Commissioner Wheeler stated that he is simply asking that <br />the Board adopt a Resolution in support of the Governor's position. <br />56 <br />I- J <br />
