Swan <br />Supervisor of ElectionS <br />Indian River County <br />October 7, 2014 <br />The Honorable Peter O'Bryan, Chairman <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Indian River County <br />1800 27th Street, Building A <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960 <br />Dear Commissioner O'Bryan: <br />The City of Fellsmere recently approved a voluntary annexation of 8,845.19 acres into <br />0ifraA' the City of Fellsmere consisting of eight parcels of land which are located contiguous <br />with each other and are located easterly and westerly of Interstate Highway 95 (1-95) <br />and are contiguous to the existing city limits on the east side and west side of Interstate <br />Highway 95. <br />l <br />I am requesting approval from the Board of County Commissioners to redraw the <br />current Precinct #2 boundary lines to include the newly annexed land. <br />Florida Statute 101.001 (1) The board of county commissioners in each county, <br />upon the recommendation and approval of the supervisor, shall alter or create precincts <br />for voting in the county. Each precinct shall be numbered and, as nearly as practicable, <br />composed in contiguous and compact areas. The supervisor shall designate a polling <br />place at a suitable location within each precinct. The precinct shall not be changed <br />thereafter except with the consent of the supervisor and a majority of the members of <br />the board of county commissioners." <br />I respectfully request the Board of County Commissioner's approval to move the <br />boundaries for voting in Precinct #2 to coincide with the new City of Fellsmere boundary <br />lines.
