October 7, 2014
Page Two (2)
In addition, in my proposed budget letter dated May 1, 2014, I informed the Board that
the Supervisor of Elections would be replacing many of our EViD units (electronic poll
books) due to the fact that our vendor is retiring these units. I negotiated special pricing
of $2,095 per unit, which included a trade-in of our existing units. The first set of 53 new
EViD's were purchased last fiscal year and 51 new EViD's will be purchased in this
current fiscal year. At the request of Raeanne Cone, Staff Accountant with the IRC
Finance Department, I am respectfully requesting formal approval to trade-in all 104
units to our vendor for the new machines. The cost to purchase the new equipment has
already been budgeted.
Sincerely,
Leslie R. Swan
Supervisor of Elections
Enclosures
(
25
