2192 LAWS OF FLORIDA <br /> business dangerous in increasing or producing fires; to regulate <br /> and prevent the storage of explosives, oils and other combustibles <br /> and inflammable material; and to regulate the use of lights, electric <br /> wiring and steam pipes in all buildings and other places; to <br /> regulate and suppress the storage and sale of firecrackers and all <br /> other fireworks, guns, pistols and other fire irons, to;,, pistols, <br /> air guns and sling shots; to prohibit and punish all disorderly con- <br /> duct, breakers of the peace, and disorderly assemblies; to regulate <br /> the use of automobiles, motor trucks and other power driven <br /> vehicles; to regulate the use of the streets, alleys, parks and side- <br /> walks of the City; to regulate and prohibit the running at large <br /> of any wild or domestic animals or fowl; and to provide for the <br /> impounding and disposal of the same; to prohibit and provide <br /> for the removal and abatement of any dangerous building, struc- <br /> ture, encroachment, material or other thing dangerous to the health <br /> or safety of the inhabitants; to compel owners of buildings to erect <br /> fire escapes and to provide for prevention of fires and the safety <br /> of persons in any building or place; and the Council shall have <br /> the power to pass all ordinances necessary to the health, peace, <br /> convenience, welfare or the protection of the inhabitants of said <br /> City and to carry out the full extent and meaning of this Act <br /> .,.. and, to accomplish the objects of this corporation; and the City <br /> Council may provide fines, forfeiture, terms and imprisonment <br /> with or without hard labor and other penalties for the enforcement <br /> of ordinances; and may provide ways and means to prevent the <br /> escape of prisoners. <br /> Section 38. The City Council shall have power by ordinance <br /> to prevent the introduction and spread of infectious and con- <br /> tagious diseases and to make quarantine regulations for that pur- <br /> pose and to provide for the enforcement of the same within five <br /> miles of the City, when same does not conflict with laws of'the . <br /> State of Floriria or of the United States. <br /> Section 39. That the City.Council.shall have authority to cause <br /> to be prepared, as often as it may deem necessary, a code or <br /> digest of the City Ordinances, which may be adopted by the <br /> City Council as a single ordinance, and it shall not be necessary <br /> to post or publish the same in order that the same may become ef- <br /> feetive and in force. The Courts in this State shall take judicial <br /> cognizance of the code and ordinances of the City, and the printed <br /> copy of the code and ordinances officially printed by the City shall <br /> be taken in evidence in any trial in which the same may be com- <br /> X09 <br />
