SATUPADY AUGUST -.69 1932. <br />requested to suspend said Tax Collector as provided by 'Section 2421 of the Revised <br />General Statutes of nerida, and that an Auditor be promptly sent to make a thorough <br />and complete audit of said office. <br />Resolved, further, that a copy. of this resolution be forwarded to the Hon. <br />Doyle E. Carlton, Governor and that a copy be delivered to Ron. Gordon R. Olmstead, <br />Tax Collector of Indian River County, Florida: <br />Upon further consideration of matters with respect to the Tax Collector's <br />office, it was ordered by the Board that C. P. Diamond as Attorney for the Board be <br />instructed to make demand upon the Columbia Casualty Company for the immediate payment <br />of the .amount of its bond as Surety for the Tax Collector to the County of Indian River <br />on account of the shortages of the Tax Collector as shown by the editors report, and <br />that upon its failure or refusal to mkae such payments in a rea:asomble time, to insti- <br />tute suit for he c©ll.edtion of such bond. <br />it was ordered that Tax S€ale._.certificate No -931 be sold for $8.94 <br />There being no further business the Board then aadjo edo' <br />ATTEST: Chi rn <br />o <br />Clerk. <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th 1932. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met <br />at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, September 6th 19329 <br />with the following members of the Board present: !Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D. <br />Yongue; J.W.LaaBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker. Also present were Miles Warred, <br />Clerk and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. <br />Angus 'Sumner, State Attorney appeared before the Board regardiftg alleged short <br />in the Tax Collector's account. The Board advised the State Attorney he would be called <br />to meet with them when the Assistant State Auditor, now at work, completes the present <br />audit being made. <br />The Notary Public bond of Josephine Scherer in the sum of 0500.00 with American <br />Surety Company, a corporation, as surety was approved. <br />The following resolution was introduced: <br />YMREAS, on account of the failure -to collect a large percentage of the taxes <br />extended on the 1931 tax roll there appears a deficit in the General Revenue Fund and <br />the Road & Bridge Fund of the County, both of which funds are virtually exhausted <br />at this time, and <br />WHEREAS, there appears a balance of $120.03 in the Publicity Fund, and a balance <br />of $275.28 in the Agricultural Fund, and no expenditures contemplated from either of <br />said funds for the remainder of the fiscal year, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, in regular <br />session, that the sum of $120.03 be transferred from the Publicity Fund to the GENE <br />REVENUE FUND, and the ! bm of $275.289 be transferred from the Agricultural Fund to <br />the ROAD & BRIDGE FUND, to meet the current obligations against each of said funds. <br />Such transfer to be made only upon the approval of the Comptroller. <br />Upon being put to a vote the same was unanimously adopted. <br />0 <br />Mrs.Mary Daniels, appeared before the Board requesting aid, and after eonsiderab7 <br />discussion no action was taken. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1.� <br />1 <br />
