PROCLAMATION <br />SIXTH ANNUAL INDIAN RIVER COUNTY DAY OF SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a long history of <br />providing humanitarian services in response to emergencies and natural disasters; and <br />WHEREAS, The Church has been challenged by its leaders to extend the same service to <br />those in need during times other than emergencies, hence the Day of Service; and <br />WHEREAS, On the Day of Service, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day <br />Saints will volunteer in their communities and link arms with other churches, community <br />organizations, local businesses and residents of all beliefs in an effort to assist and serve the needy <br />and less fortunate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Day of Service provides a much needed service to those most in need in the <br />community and it is an opportunity for different faiths, beliefs, civic organizations, and businesses <br />in Indian River County to share and work in service together. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, do hereby proclaim the last <br />Saturday of April as "A DAY OF SERVICE" in Indian River County and urge citizens of all <br />beliefs and churches of all faiths to be aware of this Indian River County Day of Service as the day <br />in which our community of different faiths and beliefs link arms to beautify our community and <br />lend a helping hand to those in need. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of April, 2014 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />!
