Students leave the program with a certificate from Adult & Community Education. This program allows successful <br /> students to sit for the National Healthcareer Association's Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. <br /> Phlebotomy <br /> The phlebotomy program includes: anatomy and physiology, safety precautions, patient's rights, and the correct methods for <br /> collection and storage of blood. This course is for students who have no medical background. Adult Education also offers a 65-hour <br /> urse for students who are already working in the medical field and in a hands-on position such as <br /> continuing education phlebotomy co <br /> via the National Health career Association is available to students after successful <br /> a CNA or HHA. A national exam in phlebotomy <br /> completion of the program. <br /> Medical Coder/Biller <br /> This program teaches students how to determine accurate code for diagnosis, procedures, and services performed by physicians and <br /> providers. Students who successfully complete the course may sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. The exam <br /> consists of questions regarding the correct application of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9/1acodes. <br /> well 0 W . Students may sit for the CPC-P national billing exam as well as the CPC. Upon successful completion, students can <br /> expect to find entry-level positions in hospitals, doctor's offices, long-term care facilities and many other medical settings. <br /> Home Health Aide <br /> Home Health Aides (HHA's) provide personal care in the home setting to patients who need help due to surgery, a chronic disability, <br /> are recovering from an illness or injury, are elderly, and/or homebound. HHA's help their patients with daily activities such as: <br /> getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, exercising, and many more activities. Adult and Community Education's HHA program <br /> includes instruction in support services required to provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort. Students also learn to assist <br /> patients toward independent living in a safe environment.
