Chandler, County Administrator <br />H.T. "Sonny" Dean, Dire= r <br />Department of General ice <br />FROM: Dominick L. Mascola, CPO Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: IRC BID #90-52 Irrigation System for Grapefruit Grove <br />On request from the Utility Department the bid for Irrigation System for <br />Grapefruit Grove_ was properly advertised and Six (6) Invitations to Bid <br />were sent out. On March 7, 1990 bids were received. Two (2) vendors <br />submitted proposals for the camcdity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to specifications. <br />St Lucie Water was the low bidder that met all 'requirements. <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will crane from Impact Fee Fund Construction in <br />progress. <br />RECOMMENDMON: <br />Staff recommends the Award of a Fixed Contract for .$32,960.00 to the low <br />bidder, St. Lucie Water for the subject project. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that on this he would like to <br />move to reject all bids and readvertise. We had only 2 bidders; <br />there was a spread of $20,000; and he also believed there is a <br />question of whether the 45 day time limit can be met. In <br />addition, he had questions regarding the experience of the firms <br />in terms of how many of these irrigation systems they have <br />already installed. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, to reject all bids received <br />on Bid #90-52 and authorize staff to readvertise. <br />APR 2 41994 " Boos f'� qac,- ` 4u" <br />
