Library Furnishings <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/19/90: <br />DATE: APRIL 19, 1990 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVIe AS <br />SUBJECT: LIBRARY FURNISHINGS <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Staff has been advised that other Counties in the State have <br />contracts for the purchase of library furniture. These contracts <br />have a discount ranging from 33.5% for purchases of $10,000 to <br />$20,000; up to 59% for $200,000 and above. This is a higher discount <br />than is offered on Federal GSA contracts. It also includes a clause <br />whereby, should any other entity in the State be offered a greater <br />discount than theirs, they would be entitled to receive the same <br />amount. We have budgeted $450,000 total for furnishings in the two <br />County Libraries.
