CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: TERRANCE G. PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />PREPARED HARRY E. ASHER <br />AND STAFFED ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />BY: <br />SUBJECT: ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />NORTH COUNTY WATER PROJECT - PHASE I <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -90 -05 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On April 12, 1990, the Department of Utility Services received <br />sixteen (16) responses to its Request for Letters of Interest to <br />provide engineering services for the North County Water Project - <br />Phase I.* The selection committee reviewed the sixteen (16) <br />responses and selected four (4) firms to be interviewed for the <br />project. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On May 7, 1990, the selection committee interviewed the four (4) <br />firms, and as a result of the interviews, ranked the firms as <br />follows: <br />1. Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc. <br />2. Masteller and Moler <br />3. Kimball/Lloyd and Associates, Inc. <br />4. Carter Associates, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility Services to <br />conduct negotiations as to scope of work and cost, and to proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm, based upon the outcome <br />of the negotiations. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized <br />Utilities staff to conduct negotiations and proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm as set <br />out above. <br />64 <br />
