ASHER <br />AND STAFFED ASSISTANT -DIRE OR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />BY: <br />SUBJECT: ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />NORTH COUNTY WATER SERVICE AREA <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. 90-64 <br />BACKGROUND <br />On March 30, 1990, the Department of Utility Services received <br />thirteen (13) responses to its Request for Letters of Interest to <br />provide engineering services for the study, design, and inspection <br />services for the North County Water Service Area. The selection <br />committee reviewed the thirteen (13) responses and selected four (4) <br />firms to be interviewed. <br />ANALYSIS <br />On June 4, 1990, the selection committee interviewed the four (4) <br />firms, and as a result of the interview, ranked the firms as <br />follows: <br />1. Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc. <br />2.- Kimball/Lloyd and Associates,. Inc. <br />3. Glace & Radcliffe, Inc. <br />4. Smith & Gillespie Engineers, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility Services to <br />conduct negotiations as to scope of work and cost, and to proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm, based upon the outcome <br />of the negotiations. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously authorized <br />Utilities staff to conduct negotiations and proceed <br />with an agreement with the first choice firm as set <br />out above. <br />� 'JUN 12 Wo <br />65 BOOK <br />fAut ® � <br />I <br />
