PINTO% / <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILIT SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 WITH UTILITY SYSTEMS OF <br />AMERICA, NORTH COUNTY SEWER PROJECT <br />IRC PROJECT NO. US -87 -27 -CCS <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. McCAI <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PRO NEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT I SERVICES <br />BACKGROUND <br />Due to the inability of the County to acquire certain easements, <br />changes to the original effluent disposal system, various changes in <br />restoration, and modifications to several lift stations the above <br />listed change order is being brought to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for approval. <br />On June 26, 1990, the Board of County Commissioners approved Work <br />Authorization No. 4 with the Project Engineer (Masteller and Moler, <br />Associates, Inc.); portions of the redesign covered by this work <br />authorization are included in this change order with the contractor. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The proposed changes -involve modifications to several lift stations; <br />i.e., (Rt. 512 Lift Station, River Run, Reflections). Also included <br />are force main modifications; i.e., (River Run, Pelican Pointe, <br />Effluent Reuse Force Main.) A reduction also occurred due to a <br />change in the proposed road restoration- method proposed 'by the <br />contractor: The economic effect of these changes is as follows: <br />1. Original contract price $3,388,617.55 <br />plus Change Order No. 1 <br />2. Net reduction by $ 25,926.25 <br />Change Order No. 2 <br />Net contract Total 3,362,691.30 <br />(See attached Change Order No. 2) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of.the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approve Change <br />Order No. 2 in the amount of a decrease ($25,926.25) with -Utility <br />Systems of America. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order No. 2 (a decrease of $25,926.25) with <br />Utility Systems of America. <br />48 <br />
