(Local Governments, DCA, TCRPC, Private Sector. <br />Policy 10.1.2.3.5: All--impa7et fees paid to the Counties and <br />described in PFolicy' should be <br />used for the acquisition of native lands, "wilderness island" <br />preserve areas, major wildlife corridors, and the management of <br />lands acquired using these fees. Where lands of suitable character <br />and size are available for purchase within the governmental <br />jurisdiction from which that fees were derived from, efforts should <br />be made to acquire such lands. To the maximum extent feasible, fees <br />collected for impacts on one particular habitat type should be used <br />for purchase of that habitat type, however, first priority should <br />be given to purchase.of regionally rare or endangered lands that <br />occur within the County (Local Governments, TCRPC.) <br />Policy 10.1.2.4: Before any land which is suspected by the local <br />reviewing agency to potentially support listed species is cleared, <br />the property shall be surveyed for endangered plant communities, <br />and listed species by a competent ecologist or environmental <br />specialist. Listed species shall be those appearing in the most <br />recent edition of "Official Lists of Endangered and Potentially <br />Endangered Fauna and Flora in Florida" published by the Florida <br />Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and/or the Florida Committee <br />on Rare and Endangered Plants and Animals publications. <br />In the event any listed species is present on site, the Florida <br />Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service shall be immediately notified. Proper protection of these <br />species and habitat upon which they are significantly dependent <br />Rhal_1 be provided to the satisfaction of these agencies and the <br />local government. <br />Policy 10.1.2.5: Each c <br />shall adopt programs to a <br />1. Florida Statutes. <br />Commissioner Eggert explained that our suggested plan wasn't <br />included in the packets sent out by the Council prior to the <br />upcoming meeting this Friday. She advised that their staff is <br />coming forward with an alternate plan which she understands has <br />been worked out with Doug: Bournique. Attorney Collins told her <br />this morning that he had talked to people among the agricultural <br />group and they still are supporting our approach.
