Keat ng, CP <br />Community Deve op t Director <br />THRU: Sasan Rohani <br />Chief, Long -Range Planning <br />FROM: Cheri Boudreaux <br />Senior Planner, Long -Range Planning <br />DATE: July 13, 1990 <br />�00F 10 71 j <br />RE: TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED COORDINATING BOARD <br />MEMBERSHIP <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regular <br />meeting of July 24,'1990. <br />DESCRIPTIONS & CONDITIONS <br />On May 8, 1990, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />transmittal of the county's application to the state to become the <br />local Designated Official Planning Agency (DOPA) for the provision <br />of transportation disadvantaged planning activities in the area. <br />The State's Transportation Disadvantaged Commission (TDC) <br />officially notified the county by letter of its approval as the <br />DOPA on June 15, 1990. <br />The next step in the process is for the DOPA to officially appoint <br />the appropriate members of the Local Coordinating Board. <br />ALTERNATIVES & ANALYSIS <br />Chapter 427, Florida Statutes and Rule 41-2, Florida Administrative <br />Code, specifically outline the mandated requirements of the <br />Coordinating Board's structure and duties. A copy of the <br />"Coordinating Board's Operating Guidelines" are attached hereto for <br />reference. <br />By law, the Coordinating Board must have eleven (11) voting <br />members. The structure of the eleven (11) member Coordinating <br />Board must be as follows:., <br />(1) A member of the DOPA who is an -elected official to serve <br />as the official chairperson for all Coordinating Board <br />meetings; <br />(2) A representative of the Florida Department of <br />Transportation; <br />(3) A representative of the Florida Department of Health and <br />Rehabilitative Services; <br />(4) A representative of the Public Education Community; <br />(5) A representative of the Florida Department of Labor and <br />Employment Security; <br />32 <br />
