AUG <br />® <br />7 199 <br />PUBLIC DISCUSSION <br />- REQUEST FOR FUNDS FOR VERO BEACH <br />CREATIVE <br />PLAYGROUND <br />The Board reviewed the following letter dated 7/26/90: <br />July 26, 1990 <br />Indian River County <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Attn: Alice White <br />1840 - 25th Street <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960 <br />Gentlemen: <br />The general committee of the Creative Playground <br />of Vero Beach, made up of parents and business people <br />of the community, has been in operation since October, <br />1989. Progress is being made toward the successful <br />completion of the Creative Playground in November, <br />1990. <br />Funding for the playground is proceeding with the <br />support of individuals, business and civic groups. Our <br />goal is $85,000 to complete the project. We have <br />received over $45,000 in cash and pledges to date, <br />including $25,000 from the city of Vero Beach. <br />We are requesting matching funds from the county <br />in the amount of $25,000. We have appeared before the <br />parks and recreation committee to state our position <br />and now ask the board to allocate funds based on their <br />recommendation. <br />We appreciate your continued support and look <br />forward to financial generosity to our community <br />effort. <br />P.O.
