Commissioner Bird advised that the ParKs & Recreation <br />Committee have met with the representatives of the Creative <br />Playground Committee on a couple of occasions and are <br />recommending an allocation of $3,000,which would be consistent <br />with'the amount of money we allocated to the North County <br />Creative Playground a few years ago. The funds would come out of <br />this ye ar''s�unexpended recreation funds and be available to them <br />before October 1st. <br />Mark Ashdown and June Block explained that they originally <br />asked for $25,000 seeing that this playground is to be larger <br />than the one in Sebastian, but their main thrust, however, is to <br />enlist more volunteers. They need about 1500 volunteers to work <br />in food service, child care, etc. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />a budget amendment in the amount of $3,000 for <br />the Creative Playground of Vero Beach. <br />Commissioner Bird understood that the playground will be <br />built adjacent to the new City/County Recreation Building on <br />County property, so perhaps the County can get a little bit <br />additional credit seeing that we are making the property <br />available for the playground. <br />Mr. Ashdown expressed their appreciation for the property, <br />and Mrs. Block advised that they are very excited about this <br />project and are looking forward to the County's participation. <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT WILL BE .PLACED ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />TO THE BOARD WHEN PROPERLY EXECUTED AND RECEIVED <br />PUBLIC HEARING - VERO STORALL'S REQUEST FOR ABANDONMENT OF A <br />PORTION OF 4TH PLACE '" <br />The hour of 9:05 o'clock A.M. having passed, the Deputy <br />Clerk read the following Notice with Proof of Publication <br />attached, to wit: <br />A is 15 noF <br />G 0 714d, <br />
