Planner DeBlois next reviewed Chapter 933 - Historic and <br />Archaeological Resource Protection, the highlights of which are <br />as follows: <br />CHAPTER 933 - HISTORIC AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESOURCE <br />PROTECTION <br />* ORDINANCE BASED ON COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN POLICIES <br />* HISTORIC RESOURCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />(REFER TO ADMINISTRATIVE MECHANISM CHAPTER) <br />* ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY REQUIREMENT <br />* MINIMUM CRITERIA AND INCENTIVES FOR DESIGNATION <br />Planner DeBlois informed the Board that this chapter, which <br />is a new one, was drafted by Planner Crosley in coordination with <br />Attorney Collins and the Historical Society. In this chapter, we <br />now have the issue of an archaeological survey requirement <br />whereby a developer who may come across a suspected <br />archaeological site, artifact, etc., is required to cease his <br />operation until he can assess the significance of his find. <br />There were no comments from the public on Chapter 933. <br />Planner DeBlois reviewed Chapter 934 - Excavation and <br />Mining, the highlights of which are as follows: <br />CHAPTER 934 - EXCAVATION AND MINING <br />* REVISIONS TO EXISTING ORDINANCE <br />* REVISIONS BASED ON STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />* HIGHLIGHTS: <br />COMMERCIAL MINING OPERATION ALLOWED <br />ONLY IN A-1, ADMINISTRATIVE PERMIT <br />CONDITIONAL EXEMPTION ALLOWANCE FOR <br />EXCAVATION INCIDENTAL TO A <br />DEVELOPMENT PERMIT, IN EXCESS OF <br />5,000 CUBIC YARD FILL REMOVAL <br />OFF-SITE <br />MINOR REVISION BASED ON STAFF <br />RECOMMENDATIONS/CLARIFICAT.ION <br />49 <br />AUG 0 9 1990 BOOK <br />
