AUG 21 1990 <br />BOGK 81 Fr` r <br />brought into the Mosquito Control District and that they are in <br />the process of drawing the boundary lines now to include them and <br />the rest of the county that needs to be brought in. <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked if that would include.the Vero <br />Lake Estates area, and Mr. Beidler confirmed that it would. <br />Administrator Chandler recommended that the costs be paid <br />out of the general fund contingencies rather than the MSTU. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously <br />approved the funding for spraying for the Culex <br />nigripalpus mosquito in Fellsmere and Vero Lake <br />Estates, as recommended by staff. <br />RESOLUTION REAUTHORIZING IMPOSITION OF COUNTY -WIDE E911 FEE FOR <br />RECURRING AND NON-RECURRING CHARGES OF E911 SYSTEM <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 8/15/90: <br />TO: Board of County, Commissioners <br />FROM: Doug Wright, D ector <br />Emergency Management Services <br />DATE: August 15, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION REAUTHORIZING IMPOSITION OF <br />COUNTYWIDE E911 FEE FOR RECURRING AND NON-RECURRING <br />CHARGES OF E911 SYSTEM <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein <br />be given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners <br />at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />The Florida Legislature in 1987 passed legislation entitled "The <br />Florida Emergency Telephone Act", which permits county governments <br />to impose an E911 fee on all residential and business telephone <br />lines to pay for recurring and non-recurring charges associated <br />with the operation of the E911 system with a cap of $.50. The act <br />authorizes Southern Bell Telephone Company to retain an <br />administrative fee equal to one percent (1%) of the total fee <br />collected for the County. <br />36 <br />
