Collins ll,,- Assistant County Attorney <br />DATE: August 22, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: Indian River Boulevard, Phase IV - Kennedy Parcel <br />On August 21st, at the direction of the Board, I advised Mr. <br />Cooksey that the Board would be willing to: <br />1. Purchase the "Kennedy" right-of-way and uneconomic <br />remainder for $165,000.00; or <br />2. Purchase the "Kennedy" right-of-way only for <br />$137,000.00; or <br />3. Condemn the property. <br />Mr. Cooksey presented the alternatives to his client. Mr. <br />Kennedy counter -proposed to sell the right-of-way only for <br />$145,000.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />In view of the costs of condemnation, especially since up to <br />four or five lawyers may represent the different <br />beneficiaries of the Kennedy Estate, I recommend accepting <br />the counter -proposal. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0) authorized <br />acceptance of the counter -proposal as described above. <br />(R/W PURCHASE AGREEMENT ON FILE IN OFFICE OF CLERK <br />TO THE BOARD) <br />NORTH COUNTY FIRE <br />The Chairman announced that immediately upon adjournment, <br />the Board of County Commissioners would reconvene sitting as <br />the District Board of Fire Commissioners of the North Indian <br />River County Fire District.
