"SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVI <br />..FROM: LYNN WILLIAMS, SUPT. �. <br />BUILDING AND GR IIS <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 28, <br />SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER #6 INDIAN RIVER COUNTY MAIN LIBRARY <br />EMERGENCY ITEM <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Staff is requesting emergency action by the Board due to the fact <br />no meeting is scheduled for October 9, 1990. The project is 3 to <br />4 weeks ahead of scheduled contract completion date, with landscape <br />and irrigation scheduled to begin within the next week. <br />The attached Change Order #6 for the Main Library Project was <br />initiated by staff to replace existing sidewalks which do not meet <br />City of Vero Beach standards and curbing are the perimeter of the <br />site. A portion of this work was included as an allowance item <br />within the original construction contract <br />Replacement of these added areas will reduce the County's <br />liability exposure and enhance the new site work by allowing <br />continuity of the curb lines. <br />The project is well within the budget allocation, with a minimal <br />increase to date -by change order. There has been no use of <br />construction contingency and there are no major changes foreseen <br />through the remainder of the project. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING: <br />Total amount of the change will be $16,700.00. The adjusted <br />contract amount will be $2,861,668.00. Account #322-109-571-066.51 <br />Main Library construction account. <br />Staff recommends approval of Change Order #6 for the Main Library <br />and requests authorization for the Chairman to sign after execution <br />by the contractor. <br />46 <br />
