Keating, AICP AA4k <br />Community Development Director <br />DATE: September 28, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: Condemnation of Unsafe Structure <br />Located at 1905 38th Place <br />FROM: Ester L. Rymer, Directo <br />Building Division <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regular <br />meeting of October 16, 1990. <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS <br />Subject structure has been condemned and ordered repaired or <br />removed; the owner was notified on February 23, 1990 and again on <br />July 10, 1990. <br />Said structure is considered unsafe and detrimental to the health, <br />safety, and welfare of the general public. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners declare <br />said structure a nuisance, and order the building demolished by the <br />County Road and Bridge Department if men and equipment are <br />available. <br />After removal, in accordance with Section 4-21, Code of Ordinances, <br />Indian River County, the Board will cause a lien to be filed of <br />record for the costs of removal against the owner or person in <br />charge. <br />Director Rymer reported that Mrs. McGriff, who is present <br />today, at first wanted to restore the structure, but later <br />decided it was not worth saving. She has obtained a permit to <br />demolish but has not started as yet. <br />34 <br />
