Mascol CPO, CPM Manager <br />Division of Purchasing <br />SUBJ: IRC BID #91-14/Fire Extinguisher <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On request from the Buildings & Grounds Division, the subject bid <br />was properly advertised and Five (5) Invitations to Bid were sent <br />out. On September 12, 1990, bids were received with One (1) vendor <br />submitting proposals for the commodity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittal to ascertain adherence to specifi- <br />cations. All American Fire & Safety was the low bidder and met all <br />requirements. <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will come from Budget Buildings & Grounds _. <br />Accounts for Other Contractual Services. Funds available $162,077.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the Award of an Open End Contract to American Fire & <br />Safety with an estimated value of $3,000.00 per year. Also, authorize <br />the Purchasing Manager to renew the Contract subject to satisfactory <br />performance, zero cost increase, vendor acceptance, and determination <br />that renewal is in the best interest of the County. The initial <br />contract period shall begin on the date of award. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, Commissioner Bird being absent, the <br />Board unanimously (4-0) awarded Bid #91-14 for Fire <br />Extinguisher Service to the low and only bidder, <br />All American Fire & Safety, as recommended by staff <br />and per the following Bid Tabulation, and also approved <br />award of an Open End Contract to same with an estimated <br />value of $3,000 per year. <br />12 <br />
