MICA N <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PROJECT R <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SEWER COLLECTION YSTEM(S) EAST OF US #1 <br />FROM INDIAN RIVER DRIVE TO THE NORTH COUNTY <br />LINE, AND OTHER AREAS OF THE NORTH COUNTY <br />AS YET TO BE DETERMINED <br />IRC PROJECT NO. UW -90 -14 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On September 25, 1990, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved negotiation with the firm of Kimball/Lloyd <br />and Associates, Inc., for the above -listed project. We have <br />;:.completed negotiations on this project; (i.e., scope of services and <br />-:' ,-,', •project cost) and wish to receive Board approval so that we may <br />proceed. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project has been divided into two stages; the first being an <br />engineering study; the second is the actual design and construction. <br />(See Exhibit A of attached agreement for specific scope of <br />services.) <br />The basic fee for these services is $25,000.00, with $10,000.00 of <br />that allocated for survey and layout costs. That $10,000.00 will be <br />credited back to the County towards the final design cost, which <br />will be negotiated based on our adopted engineering fee curve. The <br />funds for this project will come from the wastewater impact fee <br />fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION ,. <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached contract with <br />Kimball/Lloyd and Associates, Inc. <br />62 <br />
