Administrator Chandler explained that the bid amount <br />increase is in line with what other counties are doing. <br />Commissioner Bird just wanted to see us keep our bids within <br />the county whenever possible. <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that this ordinance also allows us <br />not to take the lowest bid if there are circumstances to weigh, <br />and Commissioner Scurlock pointed out that the lowest bid is not <br />always the best bid.. <br />Chairman Eggert opened the Public Hearing, and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, she <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner.Scurlock, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 90-24, establishing Chapter 105 - Purchasing <br />Authority and Bidding Procedures; providing repeal; <br />providing severability; and providing an effective <br />date. <br />Attorney Vitunac wished to thank Director Dean for all his <br />effort and cooperation in putting together the purchasing manual. <br />AF� OU J <br />Fl <br />19 ROOK <br />
