ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />The Florida Department of Emergency Management requires an update <br />on a triennial bases. In an effort to maintain an operationally <br />function plan, the Department of Emergency Services updates the <br />plan annually and then submits it every three years for review and <br />approval by the State. <br />Florida is subject to natural and technological hazards that pose <br />potential dangers to the community. State directives require that <br />each county government provide a comprehensive emergency management <br />plan for the purpose of defining the specific authorities and <br />responsibilities that are delineated within the framework of the <br />County's emergency response. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve <br />the attached Resolution and the Indian River County Peacetime <br />Emergency Plan.
