DEC 111990 eaoK P4't' �5 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />payment to Derrico Construction Corporation in the <br />amount of $9,790, as recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE <br />BOARD <br />SOUTH COUNTY REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT EXPANSION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 12/3/90: <br />DATE: DECEMBER 3, 1990 <br />TO: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: TERRANCE G. PINT <br />DIRECTOR OF UTIL SERVICES <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. TpS <br />AND.STAFFED CAPITAL PRO NGINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT TILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SOUTH COUNTY REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT <br />EXPANSION <br />BACKGROUND <br />The addition of two 1.5 million gallon per day reverse osmosis <br />processing units is currently ongoing at the South County Reverse <br />Osmosis Plant. Due to the necessity of another upcoming expansion <br />to meet the County's new concurrency plan, we now wish to proceed <br />j with a well field expansion. <br />ANALYSIS <br />To complete the current Phase of expansion (identified as Phase I in <br />the Master Plan), we need to add two additional wells -at the_ plant. <br />The estimated construction cost of the wells is $125,000.00, with <br />engineering services to be negotiated following engineering <br />selection. We are now requesting to advertise and select a <br />hydrogeological consulting firm for this project. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services requests approval of <br />solicitation of proposals from a qualified firm for the <br />aforementioned project. <br />134 <br />
