D E C 111990 <br />�OOK F,1. <br />a 82 �C 255 <br />Director Pinto explained that the whole reason we are asking <br />to hire the consultant is to look at those items, and Chairman <br />Eggert interjected that she hoped this evaluation would be done <br />by a different consultant and be totally accurate. <br />Corrmissioner Scurlock stressed that we have to go through a <br />selection process. <br />Chairman Eggert still questioned the accuracy of the first <br />consultant's report. <br />Commissioner Bowman felt it all depends on how low they site <br />the wells, but Chairman Eggert noted that the wells were there <br />before. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt that if they had any cause of <br />action against the County, they should have taken it. <br />Director Pinto advised that although the study showed that <br />our well did not have any effect on the existing wells, it showed <br />that there was a drawdown in the entire area. However, the <br />drawdown wasn't sufficient to cause the problems that were <br />supposed to have occurred next door. <br />Chairman Eggert pointed out that the drawdown just happened <br />to occur when the extra 2 million gallons went on, but <br />Commissioner Scurlock believed that water levels could be <br />affected by many other factors. <br />Director Pinto explained that when we go through the <br />permitting and design of the new wells, all those things will be <br />looked at starting from scratch. No former information will be <br />taken under consideration, and Commissioner Scurlock added that <br />we do that to protect us if there is a cause of action against <br />US. <br />Director Pinto further explained that when we do the <br />studies, we will have to be very concerned about drawdown even on <br />our other wells. <br />136 <br />® M M <br />
