HEALTH BENEFIT PROGRAM CONSULTANT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/14/91: <br />. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . <br />To: James Chandler, Date: January 14, 1991 <br />County Administrator <br />From: Jack,Price, Pr <br />s�l Sub: RFP 91 -RFP -41 Health <br />(/ Benefit Program <br />................................................................ <br />The purpose of this RFP is to obtain the services of a professional <br />consultant who will evaluate the County" -s current employee health <br />benefit program and make recommendations for appropriate design <br />changes to maximize the benefits to employees; at or below current <br />program costs. <br />From the vendor list of 6 providers, 5 responded to the RFP. They <br />include Stanford & Co., Siver Consultants, TPF & C (Tillinghast), <br />Coopers & Lybrand and Johnson Higgins. Frank B. Hall did not <br />respond. <br />The review committee, comprised of Beth Jordan, Joe Baird, Randy <br />Dowling and Jack Price, made it's selection today. The preferred <br />consultant is Stanford & Co. with Siver Consultants the next <br />choice. <br />The cost quoted by Stanford & Co. is the lowest of the group at <br />$8,500. There is adequate money in the budget for this purpose. <br />Please review and recommend Stanford & Co. for approval by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. <br />Thanks for your assistance. _ <br />Administrator Chandler noted that while all of the firms are <br />qualified, staff is recommending Stanford & Co. because of the <br />lower cost and because he has worked with them before and found <br />them well qualified. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's recommendation of Stanford & Co, at a cost <br />of $8,500. <br />19 <br />'JAN 221991 <br />
