ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />renewal and execution of documents per Staff <br />recommendation. <br />(='CUTION? O^ DOCIM-NTS HAVE PEEN RECEIVED AND NOW ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF CLERK TO THE BOARD) <br />APPROVAL OF TOWER SPACE LEASE WITH FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY <br />The Board reviewed the following memo from Director Wright: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Director <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: January 21, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Tower Space Lease <br />with Florida Power and Light Company <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein <br />be given formal consideration by the Board of County Commissioners <br />at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Florida Power and Light Company is seeking Board approval to lease <br />tower space on the county owned Hobart Tower at a height of one <br />hundred seventy-five (175) feet above ground level. If approved, <br />the company would place a flexible coaxial transmission line from,-* <br />the antenna to the ground along with transmitter, receiver, and <br />..equipment accessories in the tower equipment building. <br />The lease requires Florida'Power and Light Company to pay an annual <br />rental of $1,500 or $125.00 per month due on the first day of each <br />month. The rent for each succeeding year would be subject to <br />review and renegotiation yearly no less than sixty (60) days prior <br />to the renewal date. The annual rental rate quoted above is from <br />the standard rental rate schedule prior approved by the Board for <br />tower space leases. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />Adequate space is available on the tower for the antenna placement <br />and the equipment building at the base of the tower has sufficient <br />room to install the transmitter, receiver, and other accessories.:: <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the tower space lease with Florida <br />Power and Light Company. <br />JAN 2 9' 1991 23 <br />r; <br />
