LAN <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENT L P CIALIST <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UT LITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: INTERDEPARTMENTAL VEHICLE TRANSFER <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Department of Utility Services requires a vehicle in which to <br />inspect franchise utilities, project and construction sites. The <br />vehicle would be utilized by the engineering staff, Environmental <br />Specialist, and Assessments Projects Manager as needed. This <br />vehicle needs to have the ability to travel rough roads and carry <br />four adults. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The Property Appraiser's office has a 1986 Isuzu Trooper II that is <br />being surplused. The vehicle has 44,000 original miles and would <br />serve as an excellent inspection vehicle for the Department of <br />Utility Services. This vehicle is in addition to the vehicles <br />budgeted for this.budget year. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Department of•Utility. Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the transfer of.Asset No. 7851 from <br />the Property Appraiser to the Department of Utility Services at a <br />cost of $5,200.00. Funds would come from water and sewer fund. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously authorized the <br />transfer of Asset No. 7852 from the Property Appraiser to <br />the Department of Utility Services at a cost of $5,200, <br />as recommended by Staff... <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked why this transfer was before the <br />Board. Administrator Chandler explained it was because the value <br />of the asset was over $5,000. <br />32 <br />
