STAFF UPDATE - SECTOR 3 BEACH RENOURISHMENT PROJECT <br />Public Works Director Christopher Mora through a PowerPoint presentation (on file) <br />updated the Board on the status of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Sector 3 Beach Renourishment <br />Project. He advised that the sections of Phase 1 beaches which are not yet completed are Golden <br />Sands Park, Sanderling Beach, and parts of Orchid Island He anticipated having a Notice -to - <br />Proceed from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to complete Phase 1 by <br />November 3, 2010. <br />A brief discussion ensued as Director Mora with input from James Gray, County Coastal <br />Engineer, and Tem Fontaine, Coastal Technology, Inc., responded to questions and comments <br />from the Board regarding the necessity to get an additional Notice to Proceed for Phase 1 from <br />the DEP. <br />19 <br />October 12, 2010 <br />
