Director Mora related that Phase 2 of the Project would begin at Seaview Development <br />and extend south to Golden Sands Park, with park closures at Treasure Shores Park from <br />February 1 through late March 2011, and at Golden Sands Park from late March until the end of <br />April 30, 2011. He conveyed that the DEP would have to evaluate the upland sand sources for <br />compatibility in relation to the Sector 3 Turtle Test Plan, and anticipated receiving by December <br />1, 2010, the construction Notice -to -Proceed for Phase 2. Director Mora mentioned that at the <br />October 19, 2010 Commission meeting, staff would be presenting Ranger Construction <br />Industries, Inc.'s request for the County to prepay for the processing of some of the Phase <br />1/Phase 2 sand. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding Ranger's request for prepayment, as staff addressed <br />remarks and questions from individual Commissioners. <br />12.1.2. WORK ORDER No. 11 (TASKS 1-4) COASTAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION <br />INC., SECTOR 3 BEACH RESTORATION PROJECT, PHASE II <br />CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES <br />Public Works Director Christopher Mora presented staff's request for the Board to <br />approve Work Order No. 11, Tasks 1-4, which is associated with ongoing construction. He <br />reported that the total cost of the Work Order would be $316,243. <br />O\ MOTION BY Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board approved and <br />authorized the Chairman to execute the agreement to <br />contract with Coastal Technology Corporation, Inc. for <br />only Tasks 1 — 4 of Work Order No. 11 at this time, as <br />these services are necessary for Sector 3 Phase II <br />Construction.
