SUPPORT OF PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO INCREASE STATE AID ALLOCATION <br />TO FLORIDA_ LIBRARIES <br />Commissioner Eggert reported that proposed state <br />legislation, Senate Bill 364, would increase state aid allocation <br />to Florida libraries, and asked if the Board would be willing to <br />write a letter in support of the bill since figures have come out <br />showing that Florida ranks low among other states in allocating <br />state aid for public libraries. The increase would come from the <br />Library Administration Trust Fund. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously authorized <br />Chairman Bird to send letters in support of additional <br />funding ability for local libraries out of the Library <br />Revenue Trust Fund to legislators Patsy Kurth, Charles <br />Sembler, and Bud Bronson. <br />CODE_ ENFORCEMENT_ BOARD <br />Commissioner Eggert advised that we are having difficulty in <br />finding a replacement for Monte Halls in the Engineering <br />category. We have received one application from a retired <br />engineer who would have the time to do this. <br />Chairman Bird asked if we could hold off a week so that he <br />could have an opportunity to read this gentleman's resume. <br />The Board agreed to put this back on the Agenda in the next <br />week or so. <br />37 <br />FEB -1 9 1991 <br />
