Resolution on County Boundary - St. Sebastian River <br />The Board reviewed memo from Assistant County Attorney William <br />Collins as follows: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: ce'C William G. Collins II - Assistant County Attorney <br />DATE: February 20, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution on County Boundary - St. Sebastian River <br />I have been contacted by a representative of the House Committee <br />considering our proposed amendment to the Florida Statute to clarify <br />our boundary with Brevard County in the vicinity of the St. Sebastian <br />River. <br />The Chairman of the House Committee has inquired as to whether the <br />Board of County Commissioners still supports passage of this law in <br />view of the fact that the prior resolution was in January of 1990. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the updated resolution showing continued Commission support <br />for this statutory amendment. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />adopted Resolution 91-26 supporting Passage of <br />a General Law Amending Florida Statute 7.31 to <br />clarify the Indian River/Brevard County <br />boundary. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-26 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF A GENERAL <br />LAW AMENDING FLORIDA STATUTE 7.31. <br />WHEREAS, there is an inconsistency in the <br />definition of the common boundary between Indian River and <br />Brevard Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, F.S. 7.31 uses the term "medial line" <br />which is subject to confusing and multiple interpretations; <br />and <br />12 <br />
