7 <br />MAR <br />BOOK NAGE 85 <br />status of the DeBartolo mall. He sent that reply memo to Harbor <br />Town thinking that would suffice, but apparently they want <br />something more than that. <br />Commissioner Scurlock had talked to them as well, and felt <br />that while the Board wants to encourage development, we should <br />not be placed in a marketing situation for anyone. He didn't <br />have a problem in stating the facts of the developments' status, <br />however. <br />Commissioner Eggert explained that the draft is just a <br />suggestion for a letter that would be sent to 5 or 6 anchor <br />stores. <br />After a brief discussion, the Board indicated their <br />preference would be for Chairman Bird to send out just one letter <br />to Harbor Town, identifying the factual situation. The letter <br />would be sent out under the Chairman's signature and attached to <br />Director Keating's reply memo, and Harbor Town could do what they <br />want with it from there on. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Chairman to send a cover letter over Director <br />Keating's memo identifying the factual situation <br />of the mall's status. <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING NORTH COUNTY WASTEWATER <br />Commissioner Scurlock reported that Administrator Chandler, <br />Attorney Vitunac, Director Pinto and himself had met with Mayor <br />Conyers this past week after hearing about some significant <br />controversy in the north county about our wastewater program.
