ASHER <br />PREPARED BY: <br />ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: <br />"ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />ENGINEERING/HYDROGEOLOGICAL SERVICES FOR DESIGN AND <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A DEEP WELL DISPOSAL SYSTEM <br />BACKGROUND: <br />.The <br />Department of Utility Services received seven (7) responses to <br />its Request <br />for proposals to provide engineering services for the <br />above -referenced <br />project. The selection committee reviewed the <br />seven (7) responses and selected three (3) firms to be interviewed <br />!.for the project. <br />I r <br />ANALYSIS: <br />On April 12, <br />1991, the selection Committee interviewed the three (3) <br />firms and, <br />as a result of the interviews, ranked the firms as <br />follows: <br />1. CH2M Hill' <br />2. Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan, Inc. <br />3. Camp, Dresser and McKee <br />The Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department of Utility Services to <br />conduct negotiations and to proceed with an agreement with the first <br />choice firm of CH2M Hill based upon the outcome of the negotiations. <br />The Department also requests approval to proceed with negotiations <br />with the second and/or third selection if negotiations fail. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Eggert, to authorize the Utilities <br />Department to negotiate with the first choice firm <br />and then the others in the order listed, if those <br />negotiations fail. <br />84 <br />
