the water meter being installed by IRC Department of Utility <br /> Services in a location as near to the water main as practical. A <br /> private PVC service line will be installed in a dedicated right of <br /> way or in a legal utility easement by a licensed plumber at the <br /> customer's expense and will not exceed 500' in length from the <br /> meter to the lot line. Any and all costs associated with connecting <br /> a property to the potable water system, including cost associated <br /> with survey, design, permitting, construction, restoration, <br /> inspections, and certifications, will be borne by the owner of the <br /> connecting property. The plumber or property owner will be <br /> responsible for obtaining an Indian River County Building Permit <br /> and an Indian River County Right of Way Permit. <br /> 3.05 MARKING <br /> A. Number 10 stranded conductor copper trace wire shall be spiral <br /> wrapped or affixed to the top of the pipe. See trace wire Detail M- <br /> 13 for specifications regarding installation. <br /> B. Trace wire is required over all pipes. <br /> C. A 2" wide magnetic I.D. location tape is required over all pipes. <br /> Tape is to be installed 12" below proposed grade and additional <br /> tape shall be adhered directly on top of pipe if required by <br /> IRCDUS engineering. <br /> 3.06 SCOPE FOR POLYETHENE (PE) PIPES <br /> This section covers Polyethylene (PE) pipe and fittings. <br /> 3.07 GENERAL <br /> A. Polyethylene (PE) pipe shall be allowed for use as all pressure <br /> utility pipes where compatible with the specific conditions of the <br /> project. The use of material other than PE pipe may be required <br /> by IRCDUS during construction permit review or by IRCDUS field <br /> personnel, if it is determined that PE is unsuitable for the particular <br /> application. <br /> B. Documentation from the resin's manufacturer showing results of <br /> the following tests for resin identification: <br /> 1. Melt Flow Index ASTM D 1238 <br /> 2. Density ASTM D 1505 <br /> C. All PE pipe and fittings shall be from a single manufacturer, who is <br /> fully experienced, reputable and qualified in the manufacturing of <br /> the PE pipe to be furnished. The pipe shall be designed, <br /> constructed and installed in accordance with the best practices <br /> and methods and shall comply with these Specifications.
