Van Fleet Water Production Facility Improvements BVP 13-196 <br /> Contractors that have not attended a "Best Value" procurement process training session must <br /> attend on Wednesday, February 19, 2013 at 9:00 AM. The County will not accept Submittals <br /> from Contractors who have not attended a"Best Value"procurement process training session. <br /> i <br /> Contractors interested in submitting a Submittal for BVP 13-196 Van Fleet Water Production <br /> Facility Improvements must attend the mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting scheduled on <br /> Wednesday, February 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM. No Contractor will be exempt from attending <br /> the mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting. The County will not accept Submittals from <br /> Contractors that do not attend the mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting. <br /> The purpose of the mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting will be to clarify the Submittal <br /> requirements and technical specifications. <br /> A mandatory site visit will immediately follow the mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting. <br /> Contractors that have previously attended a site visit for the Van Fleet Water Production Facility <br /> Improvements will be exempt from attending the mandatory site visit. The following Contractors <br /> will be exempt from attending the mandatory site visit: CenState Contractors, Inc.; Close <br /> Construction, LLC; Killebrew, Inc.; Marcobay Construction; Vogel Brothers Building Co; <br /> Wharton-Smith, Inc.; Wright Construction. The above listed Contractors will be exempt from <br /> attending; however, attendance is encouraged. <br /> All other Contractors must attend the mandatory site visit. The County will not accept <br /> Submittals from Contractors that have not attended a mandatory site visit. <br /> The purpose of the mandatory Site Visit is to permit Contractors an opportunity to review and <br /> generally familiarize themselves with the Project site. <br /> As generally described in Section 2, below, the BVP does not value marketing materials and as <br /> such, Contractors are strongly encouraged to send their operations personnel to the mandatory <br /> Pre-Submittal Meetings and mandatory Site Visit in addition to or in substitution of traditional <br /> business development/sales personnel. <br /> The County will send written replies to all questions it receives during the Pre-Submittal Meeting <br /> and Site Visit to all Contractors on the mandatory Pre-Submittal List. Only those Contractors <br /> that have attended the Pre-Submittal Meeting and a Site Visit and properly noted such attendance <br /> on the sign in sheets will be eligible to participate in this Solicitation. <br /> Questions must be submitted to the County in written format only to Kari L. Kennedy, <br /> Procurement Specialist. Questions must be sent via email at karikennedygpolk-coun .net or via <br /> fax at(863) 534-6789. <br /> Contractors and any prospective contractors shall not contact, communicate with or <br /> discuss any matter relating in any way to this BVP with any member of the Polk County <br /> Board of County Commissioners or any employee of Polk County other than the County <br /> Procurement Director or the individual designated above. This prohibition begins with the <br /> issuance of the Best Value Procurement Proposal and ends upon completion of the protest <br /> period. Any such communication initiated by a Contractor or prospective contractor shall <br /> be grounds for disqualifying the offender from consideration for a contract to be awarded <br /> pursuant to this BVP and for contracts to be awarded pursuant to BVPs,RFPs or Requests <br /> for Bid that the County may issue in the future. <br /> 7 <br />
