PROCLAMATION <br />�F <br />DESIGNATING DECEMBER 12, 2013 AS <br />POLL WORKER APPRECIATION DAY <br />WHEREAS, on November 6, 2012, more than 250 Indian River county voters served as <br />poll workers to conduct the Presidential Election; and <br />WHEREAS, poll workers represent every facet of our society and community and provide <br />a tangible link between the voting public and the election process; and <br />WHEREAS, poll workers volunteer to serve their fellow citizens with distinction and <br />provide an invaluable service to our community; and <br />WHEREAS, poll workers' dedicated service is the backbone of American democracy and <br />allows our democracy to flourish; and <br />WHEREAS, poll workers provide an invaluable function to our community and are one of <br />our county's most valuable resources. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, in appreciation of these Gatekeepers <br />of Democracy, the Board does hereby proclaim December 12, 2013 as Poll Worker <br />Appreciation Day and extends our gratitude and admiration for the poll workers of Indian River <br />County and the vital services they perform in conducting Indian River County's elections. <br />Adopted this 12th day of December, 2013. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AN RIVER CQUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Pe er D.
