5. Must demonstrate to victims a sincere attitude,genuine and concerned. <br /> 6. Must be self-directed and creative in assisting victims with solving problems,through suggestions <br /> and referrals,which were created or exacerbated by the related crime or by the events related to the <br /> case being investigated,prosecuted,or disposed. <br /> 7. Must be able to rotate on a 7 day/24hours call out schedule for responding to crisis situations. <br /> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> PREFERRED: <br /> 1. Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field. <br /> 2. Prior experience in Victim Assistance/Advocate field. <br /> 3. Experience working in the Criminal Justice System or one of the local,state, and/or federal social <br /> services agencies available to crime victims. <br /> F.EQUIRED: <br /> 1. Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field,or;a high school graduate or GED with <br /> two years work experience in providing direct victim services. <br /> 2. Must attend and complete Victim Assistance training course as administered by the IRCSO prior <br /> to or within six(6)months after appointment. <br /> 3. Possess a valid Florida Driver's license. <br /> KNOWLEDGE,ABILITIES and SHILLS: <br /> Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. <br /> Knowledge of grieving process techniques. <br /> Ability to be proficient in active listening skills. <br /> Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. (Case management) <br /> Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. <br /> Ability to concentrate on projects. <br /> Ability to maintain a high level of motivation,and innovation. <br /> Willingness to work long and unusual hours. <br /> Ability to maintain high ethics. <br /> Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. <br /> THE VOCA FUNDED Victim Assistant/Advocate position is 100%VOCA allowable. <br /> The MATCH Victim Assistant/Advocate position is being reported as 25%. <br /> 108 <br />
